Conquer Turkey Neck with Kybella and Facetite this Season

This holiday season, the word “turkey” should only be associated with enjoying a special meal, not your appearance. It’s common for many to believe that the area under the chin, also known as the submental area, detracts from their appearance.

This can be difficult to address, as many factors can contribute to the appearance of a “turkey neck” or double chin, including aging, genetics, and maintaining poor posture. If you share this common concern, you can now achieve a slimmer, sleeker jawline and rediscover your confidence without surgery, thanks to two simple procedures.

What Is Kybella?

Kybella® melts fat without the need for traditional or even laser surgery. This FDA-approved injection only takes minutes to perform and can yield exceptional results for patients with extra skin and fat under their lower jaw.

Kybella® contains deoxycholic acid, a substance that is naturally found in the body. It breaks down fat cells by targeting their membranes. No longer able to store fat, they are effectively converted into a liquid, which is then absorbed by the body as part of its metabolic process.

The end result is that fullness is reduced underneath the chin, leaving you with a sleeker jawline. The downtime is minimal, with minor side effects like discomfort and swelling dissipating after a week or two. Multiple sessions, typically between three and six, are usually necessary to achieve the desired look.

In a procedure known as a liquid neck lift, Kybella® can be combined with Ultherapy, in which focused ultrasound energy further tones the neck once fat is dissolved. This powerful duo delivers a contoured look in which fat is not only reduced, but the skin is also tightened.

What Is Facetite?

Facetite is another popular, non-invasive way to achieve a smooth neckline. A radiofrequency device is applied to the targeted area, reducing fat and firming skin. This procedure is safe for all skin types, and it is most commonly performed on those who are beginning to show signs of aging.

Patients are given local anesthesia so that they remain as comfortable as possible during the procedure. A cannula, or thin tube, is then inserted into needle-sized points in the skin, where it simultaneously uses heat and thermal skin retraction to eliminate fat from underneath. At the same time, it also stimulates collagen production, which keeps skin looking smooth.

Facetite takes about an hour and we suggest that it is combined with Morpheus for full effect. A facial compression covering minimizes swelling and helps the healing process. Bruising is very minimal. You can resume your normal schedule within a few days.

For most people, only one session is needed. Some differences are apparent immediately following the procedure. After an initial healing period of one to three weeks, results continue to improve over the next few months.

After Facetite, instead of loose skin and fat hanging down from under your chin, your jawline will look well defined, adding more youthfulness to your appearance.
