How to Tell if You Need a Lower Bleph
Your eyes say so much about you and can either make you feel confident or less than confident in your appearance. One of the procedures that we offer at our office is a lower blepharoplasty or a lower eyelid lift. During this surgery, we will make small incisions to remove excess skin and fat under your eyes to give you a more alert appearance. But how can you tell if you need one? Let’s take a closer look
Dark Circles Under Your Eyes
Getting only a few hours of sleep every night is enough to give you a bunch of dark circles around your eyes, but sometimes, no matter how much rest you get, you can still have some dark circles. If you feel like your dark circles are causing you to have poor self-esteem, and if they’re not something that can be filled in with filler, then Dr. Schlessinger may recommend a lower bleph.
Puffiness under your eyes
Having swelling under and around your eyes is normal after you have cried a lot, but as you age, you may start to experience more puffiness under and around your eyes— even when you haven’t been crying. The only real way for you to get rid of puffiness is by surgically removing the excess fat under your eyes during a blepharoplasty.
Excess skin
As you age, you may start to notice that you have excess skin on virtually every part of your body, including under your eyes. If you not only have puffiness but excess skin as well, then a lower blepharoplasty may do the trick for you. During this procedure, we will remove and tighten the skin under your eyes to give you a more youthful appearance.
Lower blepharoplasty is a great way to help you get rid of tired, puffy eyes without having to spend a lot of money on eye creams that don’t work. If you want to learn more about this procedure, contact our Woodbury office today and call us at 516-496-2122.
